The
very first day of my trip started with me not being ready - so
what else is new? I'm always waiting until the very last
second. Maybe it adds a sense of excitement, I don't
know... Fortunately, my boss allowed me to take half a
vacation day. We met at the church
at 2, and left about 2:20 after a safety review and awesome
prayer led by Dave McClamma. Our caravan consisted about
18 bikes, a pickup with trailer, and and motor home with
trailer. The second group of people were leaving at
6:00.The
trip up was beautiful, with perfect temperature and white,
puffy clouds.
We arrived safely in Gainesville, got our
luggage, and I went to dinner with three other guys. Our
server, Amanda, told us of her anxiousness of trying to get
into nursing school after not being accepted twice. She
also told us that her car was being repaired after an
accident. We
prayed for her while she was there at the table, and she told
us a little about her spiritual background, which included
being dragged to church by her mom. She has not been trying to
find a local fellowship, but she did express her desire to
start going to church again. She also said she was saved
- so pray that God will work in her life to prompt her to find
a fellowship, and then that He will to do mighty things for
her as a result of her faithfulness and obedience.
